“Taichi… It’s not just people in slow motion.”
Did you know that Taichi and Bagua can dramatically improve your strength, agility, flexibility, coordination and fluid motion—even if you are already a high level athlete, dancer or martial artist? Of course, you don’t have to be at a “high level” to participate.
One way to view the art is as a science: Taichi and Bagua could be considered the science (and art) of moving with power, speed, agility, coordination and balance. As with intelligence, we mistakenly assume that these attributes are exclusively handed down to us by some force beyond our control when they are in fact well within our control. Unknown even to many athletes, dancers and martial artists, our level of power, speed, agility, coordination and balance is primarily learned. And this means it can not only be improved through greater learning, but improved dramatically.
The emphasis of my class is in becoming aware of what you are doing to inhibit your own learning. In doing so, you will discover the roots of power, speed, agility, coordination and balance and take them into whatever activity you are engaged in, be it walking, dancing or even running a marathon.
