Tai Chi, Bagua, Martial Arts

“Taichi… It’s not just people in slow motion.”

Tai Chi could be considered the art and science of moving with power, speed, agility, coordination and balance. As with intelligence, we mistakenly assume that these attributes are exclusively handed down to us by some force beyond our control when they are in fact well within our control. Unknown even to many athletes, dancers and martial artists, our level of power, speed, agility, coordination and balance is primarily learned. And this means it can not only be improved through greater learning, but improved dramatically.
The emphasis of my class is in becoming aware of what you are doing to inhibit your own learning. In doing so, you will discover the roots of power, speed, agility, coordination and balance and take them into whatever activity you are engaged in, be it walking, dancing or even running a marathon.
